Today we humbly ask of our Young Black Leaders from the world of music, if they would come together and understand that there is a much greater goal at hand and that their assistance is able to help Revive a Nation that is in desperate need of healing right now. A nation that already has a true destination, but currently struggles with safe Navigation. That destination being a land and a government that offers Equality, Opportunity, and Education to ALL.
The recent November Elections have already proven to us that America has chosen a new direction and a new path of Accountability and Truth. American citizens have made a choice and now we must continue moving forward with the momentum that has already been generated so that we are able to create Monumental change. The doors of opportunity are being unlocked and true opportunity is finally being offered to those that have been traditionally ignored, overlooked, and forgotten. The leaders of these people who are the champion messengers of setbacks, survival, and success will have their opportunities to speak to their followers at a time when the participation of these same people is required in order to make Substantial change. There is no doubt that America is currently in the process of transitioning to it’s finest days but we must understand that a completed mission of change has yet to be accomplished. However we are able to give our cause a major boost by seizing the moment and making it count.
Ultimately It is up to us to find ways to properly utilize our strengths so that we are able to become EFFECTIVE. Equal opportunity up until this point has only been a dream for some of us, yet we must focus and identify areas of Opportunity that we’ve never explored and take full advantage of the moment.
On Thursday November 19, 2020 (2) ICONS of Trap Music will square off in a battle of the very music that has inspired so many to rise up from the canvas of poverty while hurdling many obstacles and defying multiple odds. Trap music has been the blueprint for financial survival that has been adopted by many Black youth who feel as though they have been abandoned by our current system and denied true opportunity. Hip Hop Trap Music Icons Jeezy & Gucci Mane will square off in a Verzuz battle that Trap Music lovers could once only dream of, but now this battle is reality.
The Men Of Color Having Answers Foundation (M.O.C.H.A.) asks that both music ICONS recognize the moment and understand that Unity in a divided nation serves a much greater purpose than competition currently does at this very critical hour in American history. We ask that we remember the countless names that have been associated with the many reoccurring tragedies that have recently victimized Black America. We also ask that the Very Pivotal efforts of Stacey Abrams and others from the state of Georgia be acknowledged and that the two hip hop Icons will encourage the registration and the participation of voters for the upcoming January 5, 2021 US Senate runoff elections in which the citizens of Georgia will determine which party controls the US Senate with two runoff elections. It is very important that we also our own part in identifying areas and people of opportunity that tradition has taught us ignore. This is an awesome opportunity to give back to those like Stacey Abrams and others who may have been the very first in the nation to insist that every vote be counted within the state of Georgia. Mrs Abrams and others efforts, ensured that Millions of ballots were counted after many stood in long lines for hours. Let’s continue this incredible momentum and encourage those cries that have been ignored to vote for Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff on January 5, 2021.
The willingness of our current President to stand alongside several members of the Hip Hop community during this past election season only proved that for Political Purposes, Politians are willing to invite and Unite with parties that they are traditionally unfamiliar with; for the purpose of ensuring victory. We are asking that Black America would also come together and understand that we have a true Opportunity here within this Incredible Verzuz battle. Both recording artist have already successfully represented the state of Georgia in a way that has set them on a Mount Rushmore in regards to Trap Music. Truthfully, neither artist has anything left to prove to the streets. We acknowledge that it was their Iconic music (along with others) who were initially responsible for birthing an entire era of trap music. We are fully aware of the known negatives that have been associated with Trap music but again I remind you that this opportunity is so much greater than any previous opportunity; for this is an opportunity to help heal our communities.
In the Black Community it is no longer necessary to seek individual greatness on behalf of destroying another mans character. Our history in America has already proven the capabilities of our greatest strengths, when we come together and Unite. Now we are depending on these same trendsetters to father a new movement. A movement that doesn’t force us to personally challenge our allies to feud/clash with one another but one that allows us to unite and celebrate the honor and the achievements of our peers; while continuing to excel and triumph. We ask that Hip hop Icons Gucci Mane and Jeezy both set aside competition for a moment to Unite and be a part of something that is so much greater. Let’s Pause for the Cause and Unite for the Fight for Justice, Equality, and Opportunity. The M.O.C.H.A. Foundation celebrates the outstanding musical achievements of Both Phenomenal Black Men!
