M.O.C.H.A. was only minutes away from calling for a BOYCOTT of Clemson University 🥸🐅 OR Until they stop withholding American History 📚& Honor those their founding fathers enslaved.🖐🏾
One could easily argue that the signing of “The LEGREE RESOLUTION” https://themochamission.org/solutions/this-is-american-history-im-just-black, presented by The Men Of Color Having Answers Foundation (M.O.C.H.A.) and signed by the Clemson City Council, (which would name an unnamed Pedestrian Bridge in Clemson, South Carolina after a formerly enslaved African American woman who greatly contributed to the beginnings of Clemson University), was the greatest accomplishment for Black People in the state since a young Black Woman named Brittany “Bree” Newsome, courageously scaled a 30-foot flagpole at the South Carolina statehouse grounds and took down the Confederate flag.
It is very important that we remember, the most effective change in Black American history hasn't been offered, organized, or supported by the mainstream media. South Carolinians should be much more grateful for the daring actions of Brittany Newsome, yet we should also remember that these acts weren't initiated by state or local government leaders. This was an organized plan that worked to perfection and was only made possible because people had grown tired of oppression. The enormous magnitude of such a very bold act can not be understated, as the after-effects of Brittany Newsome's tremendous bravery were soon felt shortly after the takedown. The same afternoon the Confederate flag would rise again, as it was hoisted back up less than 1 hour after this historic act of courage, but it would be officially removed less than a couple of weeks later thanks to Brittany Ann Byariam "Bree" Newsome Bass.
I wholeheartedly believe that the signing of The Legree Resolution ranks as one of the major accomplishments in the recent history of the state of South Carolina. This resolution which admitted to the horrors of slavery that were inflicted upon the families of Nancy Washington Legree and others while enslaved at Clemson University (formerly Clemson College) may be one of only a few signed documents in American history where a total city government writes out their cities crimes against Black People and places those evil sins inside of a Resolution that is not honored. Understand the same pattern of those who once enslaved Black People and denied opportunity based on the color of our skin. However, this same city government in Clemson, South Carolina has not acted on the promise that was made to the citizens of Clemson on October 19, 2020. This is like a dose of unhealthy recycling of the same events that once occurred in a racist Jim Crow South when Clemson University moved forward to name a road after the 7th Vice President of the United States of America, John C. Calhoun’s favorite slave Sawney. Sawney Jr. was my Great Grandfather and I can prove this through several pieces of documentation. However, the action of naming a street after Sawney was never acted upon, and Clemson University only placed a marker on its campus to commemorate a small portion of the story of a slave named Sawney.
The M.O.C.H.A. foundation was informed over 10 months ago that the bridge would officially be named just as soon as the South Carolina DOT could meet to determine a date within their schedule. This promise was made to me by the current mayor of the city of Clemson, SC on more than one occasion. Meanwhile, I have witnessed my mission of change be “Blackballed” by Clemson University and others in the Upstate of South Carolina in an undercover carefully conspired effort to suppress the progression of The Men Of Color Having Answers Foundation (M.O.C.H.A.). During the time that I have patiently awaited the naming of the bridge, I’ve watched a White Family with a farm be commemorated by the surprise naming of a bridge less than 20 miles from Clemson, SC in which this family was caught off guard and not expecting of the dedication of a bridge that isn’t a heavily traveled road. This bridge which was also unnamed will now bear their family’s name while also preserving their family’s legacy. The same SCDOT who constructed and made time to name a bridge just miles from Clemson after a White family in the Upstate had clearly ignored the Legree Resolution and have not considered what the official naming of the bridge would mean for a state that has been known for ignoring the needs of its African American citizens. History has proven that Black People are not a priority in South Carolina and if we were then this issue would not need to be addressed. I ask that you would review an important feature that was published by schistory.org, (August 16, 2021), in which the writer of the column states the need for more African American women who have contributed to the history of South Carolina.

The Upstate of South Carolina has used many deceptive methods to discourage and make excuses for why some citizens aren’t allowed to bring forth contributions that better their communities. This is why there were only about a dozen streets and roadways in the entire state of South Carolina which identified an African American at the time when I wrote the Legree proposal a year ago. This was despite the combination of thousands of roads, highways, parks, towns, counties, and other visible markers throughout the state of South Carolina that celebrates the Confederacy. Please do not be deceived by the manipulative talk, because Numbers do not lie and this area is infested with racism and discrimination. This is the true Culture of the Upstate of South Carolina and although you have smiling Black faces, the numbers tell the story that the people have ignored for far too long.
As disheartening as it already is, the thought of American Slavery can be more than overwhelming even if you weren’t directly affected, but what about those of us who have living family members who are able to recollect the horror stories of the past? Family members who vividly remember the stories that were told by the elders of the family before their passings. The mystery of a real-life outside of fear, physical abuse, pain, death, free labor, and family separation was all a foolish fairytale for my family up until about the early 1920s in Clemson, SC (formerly called Calhoun). My family was still enslaved over 50 years after the Civil War had ended due to the greed of those at Fort Hill Plantation. Each day that goes by, it seems as though GOD continues to verify an extremely deep, painful, and well-concealed truth that has been inherited and safely hidden away by those who first discovered wealth at the hands of those who were forced to labor for free. My story is one that has been strategically eclipsed by a much much larger institution with very deep pockets, yet it is one that has an even deeper history of Hate. I acknowledge that it was my family and others in the early history of Clemson, SC who were enslaved and therefore taken advantage of by some of the most celebrated names of the early American South. Many families were enslaved but the family of Nancy Washington Legree dates back to the year 1836 and before the death of John C. Calhoun. Miraculously, my family is one of the only recorded families alive today, who were able to survive all 3 eras of slavery at Fort Hill Plantation in Clemson, SC. It is visibly evident that my family was very valuable to the growth of Calhoun, the town/city of Clemson, and later on Clemson University. It was my early direct Ancestors at Fort Hill Plantation that later evolved into my direct family, who was enslaved at Clemson University (formerly Clemson College). My Ancestors and Direct family members were illegally jailed, beaten, raped, cheated, mistreated, separated, and sold like livestock so that the lavish lifestyle of Fort Hill Plantation and later Clemson College could be maintained. Despite the withheld history of Clemson, it was my ancestors and my family who greatly contributed to every recorded era of American history in Clemson, South Carolina. Despite the acknowledgment and verification of all of the Powerful information that has been uncovered by Themochamission.org, Not one of my family members has stood with me during this extremely strenuous process. However, it is clear that many around me have taken advantage of the gracious opportunities that have been recently made available and presented as a result of those who now wish to try and add validation to ones that they assume are genetically related to me; after having ignored these individuals for years. Oppression wishes to show the rewards to those who stay in line and never question authority, while it continues to try and choke the life out of citizens who come forward with the truth in order to make an example of them. This is why although some look great delivering a message of change but a much closer look at the results from the Upstate of South Carolina shows that crime, Police Brutality, and murder have all increased over the past 5 years. It’s no longer about tradition, it’s about True Change and allowing ones who are capable of change, to be contributors to society. Oppression and the enormous fear that Clemson University has imposed in the past on those who have stood against the institution has made many in the area feel pressured to continue to support the University who has done nothing meaningful for the people who built it.
Despite the inspirational knowledge learned from the discovery of historic new-found information, many are afraid to stand up believing that Clemson University will take away their livelihoods and that the University will falsely depict them as a villain and like other citizens who have a made a very courageous choice to stand up; they fear being hated for seeking the truth.
WHEN WILL AMERICA EVER STAND WITH A BLACK MAN THAT SEEKS TRUTH FROM A RESPECTED INSTITUTION THAT CLEARLY SHOWS DISINTEREST IN RESOLVING ANY MISUNDERSTANDINGS?
I have documents that show the roads that most of my family lived on which places them directly in the area of Fort Hill Plantation and the area surrounding Death Valley stadium. I think we all understand what happened to African African property in the early south, but that’s no longer acceptable for me and I’m publicly doing something about it.
Another uncomfortable truth that is greatly unknown, is the fact that my family was raped by members of the families of Vice Presidents, Governors, Senators, Civil War Generals, and various fathers of the Confederacy for decades while being enslaved at Clemson University (formerly Clemson College).
Oppression has allowed Clemson University the privileged time to delay the truth from being introduced to the public. A mostly Jim Crow media in the Upstate of South Carolina has allowed for one of the most powerful stories of modern-day history to be hidden away and swallowed by a much larger system of profit that dares to be challenged. A system that openly funds the entire region of the Upstate of South Carolina, while carefully and strategically colluding with those with a similar agenda of censoring ones who demand that their grievances be immediately addressed.
Who among us is privileged enough to be able to hide from a truth that was only shared with the family of Nancy Washington Legree, as a result of over a year of tireless research in which I discovered my family’s true identity. How deplorable is it that a major University which prides itself on research would withhold such a monumental truth and because the institution understands that its fanbase and alumni aren’t ready to accept a deep dark truth; they delay and designate a date and time of their choice to come forward to repair wounds of the past.
The Upstate of South Carolina is notoriously known for being the leftover society of the Confederacy and by any means necessary, no matter if you are White or Black, in order to protect “THEIR” truth; the trusted authorities will withhold all information and actions which contradicts conventional character. How can anyone outside of the state of South Carolina consider sending their kids out of state to an area that is currently being ridiculed and shaken by the controversies of cover-up more than ever before?
Please don’t allow Clemson University or the Media in the Upstate of South Carolina to play the game of manipulation and blame the unearthing of truth that is being withheld on a Black man who discovers his hidden history. The truth is, once these hidden secrets have affected your life, they are extremely difficult to unravel due to those in positions of power who we have been traditionally trusted to lead, guarding valuable information that is capable of bettering the lives of the descendants of the formerly enslaved. These hidden truths are tightly concealed, nightmarish, and for the most part, avoided by those who wish to keep false information alive.
The traumatic unsolved case of a young promising White Male student, Tucker Hipps, is all of the above and more but it also proves that these secrets are extremely costly and have caused a significant amount of recent pain to the family of the former Clemson University student. Watch Below.

Over a year ago and shortly before The Clemson City Council in Clemson, SC voted and unanimously passed “THE LEGREE RESOLUTION” ( 10/19/21) Read More Below

which would name an unnamed Pedestrian Bridge after a Black Woman who was once promoted as one of the first enslaved at John C. Calhoun’s, Fort Hill Plantation, by www.Clemson.edu; I was inspired to write a book sharing my feelings after visiting Woodland Cemetery since the initial discovery of 200 graves in August of 2021. I was successfully able to accurately capture all of my feelings into the very first book that I was ever inspired to write. BELOW ARE THE RESULTS OF THE COVER!
Initially, I must admit that I didn’t have much knowledge of my family’s history whenever I thought of this title, however after I visited Woodland cemetery following the discovery of 200 Unmarked African American graves, my soul instantly became obsessed with learning the true history of my family. Somehow I knew that there was so much more to be learned but unfortunately I didn’t have the resources or the extended time to figure this one out. It was then I remembered the true story of how The Great Fredrick Douglass first taught himself how to read and write and the rest of his story is all American History.
One of the greatest Human Relations miscues in the Upstate of South Carolina is the understanding that Black People should not have to request equal treatment and fair opportunity to live in peace, especially when we have greatly contributed to and/or built most of the cities, towns, railroads, highways, and so much more throughout the South. On the other hand, one of the most effective and immoral methods in the Upstate used by large corporations, local government, and Law Enforcement in the state is the game of manipulation. Oppression allows Big Businesses to tell blatant lies and get away with making those who are actually telling the truth, look as if they have some other agenda other than seeking justice. I have gone on record as late as a couple of months ago, offering to work with Clemson University to honor the 600 plus unidentified graves that lay beneath the grounds of Woodland Cemetery. I have also offered to work with Clemson University with an already developed plan in which the University has not reached out to make contact. The truth is, Clemson University and the city of Clemson are quite comfortable with all of the intentional delays, despite already having access to the very limited information that the University has shared with the descendants of those who were once enslaved. My family just like others, deserve to know the same truth that has already been varied through themochamission.org
It is the Wide Open Mouth of Oppression that allows an institution that was constructed from the free labor of enslaved African Americans which allows Clemson University to wait out and hold out with coming forth with the truth. Oppression allows Clemson University to Blackball The Men Of Color Having Answers Foundation (M.O.C.H.A.) a South Carolina nonprofit organization that discovered the truth of the history that has been withheld for over a century now. This is despite The M.O.C.H.A. Foundation being able to accomplish more through city government than any Major Black Organization within the state of South Carolina. Despite working with, exchanging texts messages, and phone calls with Clemson University Prominent Professors, once the city of Clemson had approved the Legree Resolution, the treatment of those same professors was now noticeably different. This is because Clemson University despite having endless resources never had a plan and truthfully it wasn’t even an idea to honor the 600 plus unidentified graves even as I toured Woodland Cemetery less than one week after the passing of The Legree Resolution. This was confirmed by one of the Lead Professors who was also the tour guide for the group in which i was paired with during the visit to Woodland Cemetery.
Clemson University is doing the exact same things that their Founding Fathers once did not that long ago, by ignoring the truth and ensuring that no one hears the voiceless by finding strategic ways of hiding the truth.
You can’t imagine the incredible pain and the empty void that I once experienced on a daily because of Clemson University using and controlling the media to suppress the truth, while I suffered in silence being called a liar as a result of withheld information. Clemson University doesn’t meet or communicate with me, simply because I know the truth, yet they have spent millions of dollars in research trying to find anyone other than the family of Nancy Washington Legree to come forward with truth. My family has been here, yet Clemson has ran a Call MY **** that should be retitled, CALL MY SHAME because it’s all been for profit and despite Clemson University not offering a scholarship on behalf of the descendants in which their forefathers enslaved, they’ve continued to offer scholarships for the purpose of profit to young Black Gifted Athletes. #SLAVERY
Some things in life are much simpler to resolve than they appear, but sending your kids off to people who have shown that they care more about hiding some of the Greatest Known sins would not be advised at this time. CLEMSON UNIVERSITY should be setting the standards within the community and not continuing to set back the lives of those whose ancestors have already given their all.
Frank Howard, a former Clemson University football coach said some of the most disgusting things about African Americans while he coached at Clemson University beginning in 1940 and his reign lasted for over 30 years, never winning a National Championship during that span. This was mainly due to his extremely racist beliefs in which Clemson has based their tradition around. The Rock that is rubbed, kissed, and admired by Black Athletics is called Howard’s Rock. The football field at Death Valley’s Memorial Stadium is named after Frank Howard as well. Again Frank Howard was known racist and he wanted you to understand that. Frank Howard placed fear in the local Black citizens just as Ben Tillman and others of the Jim Crow era.
I believe that Black parents owe it to their children who visit Clemson University yearly, to understand that by bringing Greatness to the Clemson University that you are honoring a man that would not have allowed you to be a part of the program at Clemson University. What has Clemson University done besides continue a tradition of hate, while finding ways to eliminate citizens who are capable of creating positive change for all people.
BELOW ARE COMMENTS FROM LOCAL SPORTS TALK REGARDING THE TRUTH ABOUT FRANK HOWARD AND THE DISGUSTING THINGS THAT HE SAID.
Why won’t Clemson University simply replace Howard’s rock and rename the football field? It is my firm belief that Death Valley wasn’t officially given its name as a result of a rock found in California, there is evidence that this land belonged to African Americans decades before Fort Hill Plantation was ever constructed. It is called Death Valley for the hundreds of graves that surfaced and were discovered. The American civilization which is outside of the Clemson culture understands the truth and it is time to move forward recognizing truth.
At the end of the day, Clemson University has many positive ways to resolve this issue, but when you’re able to escape official accountability, then GOD has a way of preventing those promised profits from being able to be processed. What parent is really willing to send their child into an environment where the air is unhealthy and tense because of an Institution withholding a truth. When they try and distract you by blaming the truth on a Black Man, think about the case of Tucker Hipps, a white male college student who ended dead and no one knew anything about it…
They will ignore and act as if they never knew of your existence once you come forward with the truth, but Until Clemson University Honors the History of the People who owned the lands surrounding Death Valley and at Woodland Cemetery, their profits will be greatly reduced. My family lived in a few areas, mainly Pendleton Rd that’s no longer there for about 50 years before being forced off of the same area of land where Woodland Cemetery is located today. The discovery of my Grandmothers house at the area of Woodland Cemetery was proof that Clemson initially withheld.
ASK YOURSELF AFTER REMOVING THE NAME, WOULD YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE SENDING YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN AWAY TO AN AREA WHERE THE TRUTH IS PURPOSELY BEING WITHHELD?
