Voter Registration & Education during Pandemic
Registering (7/6/20) During Pandemic, Despite current COVID Numbers being at Record levels in our state!
Despite having some of the Greatest Increase of COVID-19 numbers in the country right now, The M.O.C.H.A. Foundation continues to find strategic ways to register voters in Upstate SC; amid strict regulations put in place regarding social Gatherings! We Understand that Sacrifice is mandatory in order to create Change! However, due to the current conditions in America, Change is Inevitable! Most times on the journey to reshape and restructure the core fundamental components of our lives, we encounter speed bumps. These obstacles are not meant to stop us. Sometimes they are to ensure that we pause for a second and refocus and then proceed with Knowledge and Awareness.
Unfortunately tragedy has hit our city of Greenville, SC in the worst way and in the form of Gun Violence. On the night of July 4, 2020 (just 2 days ago) 10 people were shot and 2 died from their injuries in what most describe as a Mass Shooting! This senseless tragedy has Negatively altered and affected many lives Forever! It is even more Heartbreaking to our organization because this is where our foundation started its mission, just 2 short months ago. We have asked for help within the community and within the state but most only want to give when tragedy strikes instead of being proactive with strategies to prevent violence and educate/promote the vote. These things are needed to improve quality of life and also required so that Everyone has a voice and a choice. It is our Missions goal to not only transform our state, but to Reform the minds of many by getting people Involved and educated about the Political Process by way of voting. The M.O.C.H.A. Foundation strongly believes that voting will change many lives and also create more opportunity for the people who have suffered from Oppression the most. The M.O.C.H.A. Foundation registers All People with Special Focused attention on citizens who have felt Voiceless, Unimportant, Ignored, Uninvited, Unaccepted and Unwanted. It is our goal to help these Great people understand that the November Elections are about so much more than voting for President. We must Understand that Local and State decisions effect all of us daily. Please add a donation so that we can continue to Educate and Register voters that could potentially be the difference in so many crucial races in November. There are Thousands of unregistered and willing but we have to reach out and make contact with these people for their voices to be properly heard. It is very Unfortunate that about 7 out of 10 of the people registered on 7/6/20 weren’t even aware of the voting process and how simple that it was to register. This dilemma is up to us to change. Finally, please help us so that we are able to have a real voice/choice in selecting candidates that actually care about improving the lives of many whom are Disadvantaged.
